Peter's Well is voted Champion Best Bitter of Great Britain 2011 at the Campaign for Real Ale's Beer Festival in Earl's Court, London.
Houston are working hard to produce real ale that is busting with flavour and brimming with condition. They strive to serve THE PERFECT PINT. The Houston Brewing Company in Renfrewshire is at the vanguard of the revolution in Scottish Brewing. Carl Wengel is Head Brewer, and he and his team have carved out a reputation for producing world class award-winning traditional ales. The Brewery was built in a disused cellar in the Fox & Hounds where a wonderful balanced selection of cask conditioned ales, along with a monthly special and a fantastic bottled ale - Houston Crystal - are brewed. Ale is delivered throughout the UK using a distribution network that include Flying Firkin, Belhaven, and our own draymen. The most prestigous Awards include :- CHAMPION BEST BITTER OF GREAT BRITAIN 2011 with Peter's Well (Campaign for Real Ale) CHAMPION BITTER OF GREAT BRITAIN 2005 with Killellan (Society of Independent Brewers) The brewery is a fantastic location for brewery tours - a 10 minute look at the brewing process followed by food and drink in the Fox & Hounds - a perfect day! ABOUT OUR BRAND IMAGE.... The pumpclip design was inspired from our Celtic Heritage. Before brewing became a commercial enterprise, you would find that Monks and women were responsible for the majority of brewing. When not brewing, Monks wrote and designed the wonderful Book of Kells where you will find our two wee men drinking in friendship along with some intricate celtic borders and patterns. http://art85adethlefsen.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/sv_bok_16_big.jpg
